A Message From the Principal...

Welcome to Delaware Avenue School (DAS)! It is my honor to serve as the Principal of DAS and the Director of Early Childhood Education for the Palmyra School District.

At DAS, we believe the preschool years are the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Every child deserves to begin their educational journey in a place where they feel safe, valued, and excited to come to school each day. Our goal is to create a joyful learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, build friendships, and develop the confidence to become lifelong learners.

DAS is proud to offer an integrated preschool program that provides developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences designed to support every aspect of a child's growth. Through engaging instruction, purposeful play, and meaningful relationships, our students develop early literacy, mathematics, communication, creativity, problem-solving, social-emotional, and independence skills while discovering the joy of learning alongside their peers.

One of the things that makes DAS special is our strong sense of community. We celebrate the unique strengths, backgrounds, and experiences of every child and believe that learning together helps foster empathy, respect, and a true sense of belonging. Our partnership with families is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to working together to ensure every child feels supported, encouraged, and celebrated.

Our dedicated staff is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and nurture each child's individual potential. Whether children are discovering something new in the classroom, making a friend on the playground, or celebrating a personal achievement, every day at DAS is an opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

At DAS, our Cubs strive each day to Be Safe • Be Kind • Have Fun! These three core values guide our school community and help create an environment where children feel confident, cared for, and ready to learn.

Thank you for choosing DAS as the place where your child's educational journey begins. We are honored to partner with your family during these important early years and look forward to making wonderful memories together.

🐾 See You at DAS!

Early Childhood Advisory Council

The Early Childhood Advisory Committee (ECAC) is responsible for offering input on the district's preschool program.  Further, ECAC  seeks to strengthen relationships with families, schools, local businesses, colleges/universities, and health agencies. The ECAC participates in the development of a community assessment to aid in identifying specific community needs, resources, and facilities as they pertain to the implementation of high-quality preschool services. The Early Childhood Advisory Council supports transition into the preschool program, as well as the transition of preschool students into kindergarten.  We seek representative partners inclusive of our preschool on this committee. Participation in this committee, or its subcommittees, is completely voluntary, yet essential to support the growth of all our preschoolers in the district.  The term for parents is through the 2026-2027 school year.  Business and community partners will remain indefinitely.
